Death row inmate pursues new trial in 2001 Garfield slayings

Kenneth Hairston, 57, formerly of Garfield, was convicted and sentenced to death in 2002 for bludgeoning his wife, Cathy, and autistic son, Sean, 14, with a sledgehammer.
